Portland has a wide range of floor contractors that can help you when it comes to this job. They usually would advise you to purchase commercial tiles instead of the residential grade tile. Of the two, the commercial tile is more appropriate to use since it does not easily get scratched. As long as the concrete surface and subflooring is smooth, installation would not be a problem.

Here are simple steps for putting commercial tiles. The subflooring should be cleaned. Mop the cement or vacuum the wood. If there are any cracks, repair it using a mixture of patch and skim coat. Once it dries, use sandpaper to rid of rough edges. Then, vacuum the dust particles away.

To locate the center of each wall in a room, measure the whole perimeter with a measuring tape. Use a chalk as a marker. Remember that the two lines should meet in the middle in an accurate ninety degrees. The chalk line should not cross any crack. If it passes through one, correct this by slightly adjusting the line.

Begin your job with the first quadrant on the floor. Put on adhesive enough to glue the tile in place. Follow the chalk line, and set the tiles accordingly. Do the same procedure until all the adhesive on the floor is covered. Excess area along the outer wall, may not fit perfectly on a tile. Measure the tile and cut is using a utility knife.

If the tiles need to be in a curve shape, make a pattern of the shape in a piece of paper. Transfer the pattern into the tile, before cutting it and set it over the adhesive. The same process should be repeated with the remaining space of the room. Allow the coating to dry. Once they are dry, mop the floor. Apply several coats of commercial floor polish. Allow it to dry between applications.

A commercial tile has one eighth gauge in inches. It is important to have proper maintenance of this type of tile. This will probably save you the effort and time, plus it would last years. If coated with a floor polish, will protect the floor and lessen the possibility of replacing it with a new one.

These were phenomenal ideas for flooring! We've been looking into getting our flooring refinished and redone in a couple rooms in our building. What are some other considerations of having our floor done for our business?
