Here Is Information On Florida Synthetic Grass

By Jennifer Kelly

The first step of producing synthetic turf is to mix white plastic pellets with green pellets. This mixture forms the backing of the grass. The green pellets are made of additives, coloring agents, and UV stabilizers. This mixture then has to be extruded through a perforated steel plate. Cooling of the extrusion is achieved by cooling in a bath of water. The entire production process occurs through a production line so that by the time the product appears on the other end, it is ready for packaging and shipment for consumption. This is worth knowing about Florida Synthetic Grass.

The Synthetic Turf Council today refers to all modern artificial grasses as third generation. Evolution and resilience in research receives the credit in large part for the attainment of third generation products. Modern products are very safe and of high quality, making them to be used in places where natural grass cannot be installed.

The green blades that make the turf green are usually made from polyethylene material. A similar material is used in other commonly used products such as plastic bags and bottles. The blades can be made into any color that one desires. However, in order to resemble the color of natural grass, green is the only color that is used for the blades.

Fake grass also has a thatch layer. This layer usually provides support to the blades as well as a backing for recovery. Thatch layer is mostly made using nylon, polyethylene, or polypropylene. The backing also ensures that athletes are not injured when they fall on the turf. As a result, third generation fake grass offers the highest level of safety to athletes and also reduces incidences of injury.

These products have their backings installed with blades forming neatly-organized rows of turf. Tufting machines have many similarities with sewing machines only that they are bigger in size and they comprise a couple hundred of needles. By inserting blades into backings, the result is a higher level of durability and damage resistance.

The popularity of this product came after it was installed at the Houston Atrodome baseball field in 1966 despite it having existed several years earlier. The product installed in Houston was the first generation. Research would later lead to the production and distribution of second and third generation products amidst overwhelming media critique and scrutiny.

The legalization of the use of this product by FIFA occurred in 2010. Upon being legalized, the first instance of use happened in the same year at the FIFA World Cup Games in South Africa. This product has served as a major replacement of natural grass in various spaces. It has also extended to replace carpets at high-end events such as the Latin Grammy Awards and the Teen Choice Award which previously used red carpets.

Given the high durability of this product, the warranty offered by manufacturers is usually very long. The industry maintains a warranty of 15 years on all products purchased. The warranty covers manufacturing issues that may be discovered in the course of use among others.
