Why You Need To Seek Help Of Powder Coating Los Angeles Painters

By Linda Ruiz

When looking for high quality finishes that will last long and leave no mess on surfaces, you may want to try powder coats. With powder coating Los Angeles painters, industrial companies and individuals will find that this is one of the most highly regarded finishes in the industry, being used on a variety of both industrial and domestic materials. It is especially useful for metal substrates, adding color and strength.

One of the reasons it is very effective is the working mechanism. This procedure does not operate like liquid paints, and is therefore far much effective. It uses a coating gun that has a polarized rod running through it. When the powdered material passes by the rod in the gun, it is polarized and assumes a slightly positive charge.

If the materials to be coated can possess even a slight negative charge, then this technique can be used on it. One will find that there are some materials, which have stronger electrical charge than others. For these, advanced methods like hot flashing are used. When the powdery material is released from the gun, then positive seeks the negative, and the two attract.

One should, however, be careful to avoid the Faraday effect. After the spraying process, the last stage is the curing process. This is done by heating the newly sprayed item up to about 190 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. The curing is an important step in the procedure because it helps strengthen the coat.

The heating continues for about 15 minutes and then the object is cooled down to room temperature. The curing process is significant because it melts down the particles and most of them realign themselves such that they form a coating bond that is stronger than the initial spray one. The cooling process down to room temperature should happen slowly, so that both the powders and the material coated cool down at the same time.

But this procedure is not famous because of its working mechanism. The advantages it has are functional ones. First, because of the way it is applied, the powders that end up on the item are as high as 95 percent of those particles released from the gun. This results in less wastage and a less messy finish than the conventional liquid paints.

The cost effectiveness does not stop there, though. The particles are smaller than the liquid based pigments in liquid paints. When using a single color, the particles can be recycled until up to 100 percent of them are used. For the liquid paint, once applied, there can be no recycling. The coating applied by this process is far much thicker than the normal paint coats.

In fact, this is one of the key reasons why it is so durable. In some cases, the coating is almost ten times that of paint coats. The baking process will also ensure that the finish comes out as smooth as glass without any cases of orange peel. With the technical process and the thick coats, the finish comes out as durable as ever. Materials coated through this process are resistant to damage by moisture, UV light, chemicals, and impact. Using this method guarantees a long lasting and beautiful finish.
