Cheap And Efficient Chemical Free Cleaning

By Patty Goff

There are hundreds of products designed for cleaning your home. Most of them contain various chemical substances that are not particularly helpful to the environment. Moreover, you need different cleaning products for your furniture, kitchen, bathroom, floors and windows, to name just a few. In fact, you can make your home immaculately clean using only a few things you probably already have. Chemical free cleaning is cheap, efficient and non-polluting.

All you need is a bottle of plain white vinegar, one pound of baking soda, one small bottle of alcohol, a lemon and some olive oil. A few drops of your favorite essential oil can be used to fragrant your new, home-made products. Using these ingredients you will be able to make different, highly efficient mixtures and keep your home perfectly clean, without polluting your environment in any way.

A simple paste made of a few spoons of baking soda and some white vinegar is great for so many purposes. You can efficiently clean your sinks and bath tubs, ceramic plates, kitchen stoves and all other similar surfaces. Rub all filthy surfaces with generous amount of your paste and leave it there for a while. Scrub away all the dirt using a wet towel. Rinse and polish, and that's it.

It is simple to unclog your drain using the same ingredients. In this case you should put a spoon or two of baking soda in the drain. Add some vinegar and cover the drain for some time. When you mix these ingredients together, they will make fizzy foam. After that, just pour some boiling water in and your drain will be simply and easily unclogged.

Highly efficient combination of baking soda and lemon juice is simply great for removing stains from your clothes as well. You can also clean your silver with this same paste. Different types of jewelry, especially chain necklaces and bracelets made of silver should be left soak in warm water with some baking soda and they will be shiny again.

If you have to remove really stubborn baked-on food stains, this might help. Mix one cup of white vinegar with one cup of water and spray this mixture over the stain. Wait for a while, and sprinkle a spoon of sea salt on it. Scrub the stain until it's removed. You can use soda instead. If you just hate the smell of vinegar, you can add some lemon juice or even a few drops of essential oil in your mixture.

White vinegar is really effective for cleaning windows and mirrors. Use some old spray bottle and fill it with one cup of vinegar and three cups of water. Add a few drops of lemon, and clean your windows. You could also use some vodka for the same purpose, but you might find something much more interesting to do with this particular fluid.

Wooden furniture can be efficiently cleaned, nourished and shiny when you clean them with olive oil combined with lemon juice. Put this mixture on a soft cloth and polish all wooden surfaces with it. Every natural stone, granite or marble counter top can be cleaned using pure alcohol or vodka. Make sure not to use vinegar on natural stones.
