Seattle Landscape Architecture: Pleasure In The Outside

By Ryan Richardson

Forget sitting on a bench outside with trees; merely looking at a properly done area with natural green shining in the sunlight. It is mesmerizing. It is breathtaking. Surely there is some sort of chemical process in the brain. Seattle landscape architecture is all about making this happen. It brings the art and the science together for an environmentally friendly, socially conscious and aesthetically pleasing result.

One of the greatest benefits is that it helps preserve nature. This is actually one of the reasons why it has become such a popular service. People are more concerned with conserving the environment and keeping things all natural. This craft will help solve possible problems and maintain the environmental strengths in the area. It is all about making things better for human beings and future generations.

Storm water does not seem like that big of a deal. It is just water, right? However, think about this. What happen when the same storm water mixes into wells and boreholes? What happens when that storm water seeps into city supply systems? What happens when that water is ridden with pollutants? The whole city will get polluted water. There will be a city wide pandemic that might spread to other states. Storm water management is therefore completely integral.

Then there is cleanliness. Plants can do so much. First, they can help remove contaminants from the soil. Some specific plants can help restore the soil to its former fertile glory and possibly even improve the general structure. The more well-known fact, plants are integral to air purification. Plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air. Ever wondered why it feels so refreshing to sit under a tree?

How does it feel to sit under a tree after a long walk in the hot sun? Even without a glass of water, that alone can be invigorating. It is relaxing. Tree shade trumps any other kind of shade. Metal, wooden, concrete or whatever other kind of shade one deems to build. See trees allow for circulation of air. Being in nature has been found to have a positive effect on state of mind.

The thing about outdoors is that if neglected, they can make the whole property an eye sore. They can depreciate the value of the property so far down. It takes the culmination of both art and science to achieve a picturesque sort of outdoor. With different hues of green and a good atmosphere, application of this craft is value addition.

Outdoors are rarely similar. One should not accept a cookie cutter approach to their project. The designer must have an understanding of the area before they make recommendations. That means that the plan will be bespoke. It will be developed with a view to the factors specific to the property.

Another tip to success, get a professional; at least someone who has been trained. Is should someone with both technical expertise and experience. One who will not just be playing around in the dirt but doing something worthwhile.
