By Sharon Hamilton

For those people who love seeing plants growing at their community, they will surely enjoy the art of gardening. Moreover, it could also provide some health benefits to them such as increasing their Vitamin D, lifting up their moods, etc. And it is also another way for humans to exercise their body. No wonder lots of people would want some lawn at their property so they could have their garden. Aside from that, they could also modify their garden into whatever they like and increase its aesthetics. But sometimes, they have some misconceptions about fall pruning Thomaston which leads their plants to be destroyed instead.

Nature-lovers certainly like the idea of pruning with their plants. But what is that basically about? It is actually the process of maintaining the condition of your trees and others. To do that, you have to remove the dead portions or perhaps use other tools in trimming a plant. In addition, it helps in protecting your garden as well as the people around you and your property.

With this method, plants will certainly grow healthier for the rotten portions are being removed from them. It also act as a pest deterrent so pests will not damage your garden and cause some infestation. In addition, it serves as protection for the people around you. When storm occurs, broken branches may scatter and it might harm those persons who are just passing by your area.

As you see, it does contains several benefits. And when the autumn season finally comes, your hands might be itching to get some tools and start some pruning. But then, you must know this one thing. Fall is never the best season for you to do that activity.

You may wonder why it is not prohibited. With those benefits previously mentioned, it should be alright to execute it. Plants also get wounded when they were being trimmed. But it could help them to grow well. However, the wounds would not heal fast if you prune it this season.

Plus the next season would be winter. Cold seasons could not make those wounds heal faster since the energy of a plant will be more focused on its roots. Therefore, if you prune it, those cuts will certainly not heal, leaving your plant more vulnerable to many hazards.

So what will you do instead during that season? Of course you would not just stand and watch everything turning into something messy. You may do mulching and also raking for your lawns. In fact, mulch is helpful in protecting your plants during winter season as it gives nutrients to their roots.

Deep watering can also help. It might be tough for them to get water from winter from the cold grounds. It could be helpful for the trees. Aside from that, you may resume pruning on the late winter or perhaps during early spring.

So is it a good idea? No. You better keep your pruning tools off from your garden. Otherwise, you face some negative outcomes.
