There are people that want the gardens they have to look beautiful if visitors come or when they decide on selling their house. They would place plants which were grown specifically as decorative with their aesthetic features being used like stem, overall foliage texture, leaves, flowers, barks, fruit, and scent. Those having unusual features can add interest to observers.

Properly take care of them as this would be essential in maintaining their beauty though some only appear best during certain seasons. Liriope and ornamental grass have become a very popular alternative because of this which last longer compared to other types. They can grow in various conditions of soil and have nor problems usually with disease and insects.

Most varieties tolerate drought which are severe and movement illusion is created by large ones with just the slightest breeze. Gardeners for home discovered that combining flowers and shrubs with them would provide interesting textures and colors. Their divers colors have a fair ranged and are used for successfully setting off large or small lawn areas.

When choosing which to plant, consider the following things with their hardiness rating being the first and match it with your zone. These geographically defined areas or zones have specific plant categories that can grow depending upon the climate and temperature. Though other varieties that loves the sun could also perform well with partial shade though their growth will be hindered. Taking good care of them is similar to other plants in the beginning so make sure they begin well in your garden. When transplanting, ensure the soil is not dried through filling water in your planting hole before they are set. You should add some compost then fill in around the grass then water them once again.

Most of them only require ordinary soil that is fertile moderately and drained well but others do not so have some experiments done. They should have good drainage including those which prefer materials that absorbs moisture well. Regular watering is needed by some while others die with too much water so get informed and avoid getting them drowned or dried.

Determine the function your grass will serve such as covering exposed soil, garden bed edging, adding texture and enhancing privacy. They can become barriers for you against prying eyes and the recommended varieties are those taller and thicker. Lower growing ones are the better choice for lining driveways so your view would not be blocked.

Finally, decided whether you require a running or clumping grass with the latter being non invasive which would not spread out from its location. The former though would spread themselves out f you will not control them. Choose one between covering your ground or forming a neat mound depending upon your needs.
