The Important Things Worth Noting Regarding Postpartum Doula Dallas

The wish of many women is to be mothers. Large percentage of couples also marries with the aim or goal of becoming parents at one time. There is great joy that comes with a baby to every mother. But this is not always the case for some new mothers basically because few days after delivering they develop a lot of moods swings. Ten percent of all new mothers experience major postpartum depression or PPD in their first year. Some changes are physical such as lochia, sore muscles as well as afterpains. Baby blues generally must be experienced by every mother. More than eight five percent of young mothers complain of this illness. The illness comes immediately after 2 weeks. It is not a permanent situation so after few days or weeks it is bound to disappear. Symptoms of baby blues include irritation, a lot of anxiety, mood changes and uneasiness.

Some biological factors and also psychological factors and not forgetting relationship factors may lead to PPD. It is wise to also consider evaluating your medical record to see whether there is any medical condition that can contribute to PPD.

Contrary to baby blues, PPD usually develops insidiously three or four weeks after giving birth and basically persist for three months. But for some women, they may remain depressed for a period of eight months. One third of some women may even remain in the depression state for more than fifteen months. PPD is more severe than baby blue. The third type is postpartum Psychosis which is less common but very severe to those who experience it. Symptoms include mixed cycling between depressive and manic episodes, delusions, agitation, low insights, cognitive impairment, disorganized behavior and hallucinations.
