Why Bed Bug Dogs Are Preferred In Inspecting Premises

If you have not been invaded by bugs, you do not wish to encounter their infestation. They are very nasty and will cause itch bites. Even seeing them will make you feel scared. The problems is that most homes may now be susceptible to these insects considering that they have resurged and have been reported in many establishments including homes and businesses. However not all canines may perform accurately and before you settle on a dog handler, ensure they are properly trained. The dog should have been trained and certified and the handler should know how to conduct visual inspections. This is because a canine will only alert the handler and it is upon him or her to conduct a quickly visual inspection to find the bug.

But this does not mean that with use of the canines, the visual inspection does not help anymore. In fact the bedbug dog technique goes hand in hand with visual inspection. When the canines gives an alert, the handler has to use his visual ability to find out whether it is a false or a positive alert. At times canines have been known to give false alerts but this mostly happens due to improper training or poor handling of the dog.

Business premises have suffered a lot of losses because of presence of bugs. Homes are also finding it difficult to deal with this menaces. The problems is that after many years of disappearance, the bedbugs have resurged and they are now affecting many parts. In order to get rid of bugs, you need to inspect and find them when the population has not increased.

In large premises such as hotels and apartments, using canines can give good results. These are large premises, which could take days to do a visual inspection. But with canines, it takes only a few hours and the inspection is completed. You should never spray or conduct an extermination in a building before you have identified live bugs.

You may have to do several extermination and inspection procedures to ensure that you get rid of these insects. Bugs are not known to transmit or cause disease but their bites are a big problems. The bites cause itching, which could lead to scratching that opens and exposes the skin to bacteria.

It is not easy to see a few bugs in a room because they tend to feed at night when it is dark. During the day, they are resting in their hideouts and will only come out at night unless they are very hungry. In the bed, it is also not easy to see or feel them because they try to apply a natural anesthesia, which makes it painless when they bite you.

You can check in areas such as the headboards, box springs, furniture, cushions, wall joints, crevices, and on the mattress edges. You may also want to look for the signs on the carpet edges and the joints of furniture. These insects tend to feed in a straight line and they will cause bites dotted in a straight line. This could difference their bites from those of other insects.
